PURPOSE: A method for transmitting variable-length PDUs(Protocol Data Units) in an RLC(Radio Link Control) Tr(Transparent) entity is provided to vary the number and size of variable-length PDUs in the case of transmitting them on the basis of a radio interface. CONSTITUTION: Based on a radio interface, an RLC Tr entity(201) stores SDUs(Service Data Units), received from an upper layer, in a transmitting buffer(202). A MAC(Medium Access Control)(203) sends the number and size information of PDUs, which will be sent from the RLC Tr entity(201), through an MAC status indication primitive. The RLC Tr entity(201) segments SDUs according to the PDU size the MAC(203) requires. Also the RLC Tr entity(201) transmits PDUs to the MAC(203) through a logical channel as much as the PDU number the MAC(203) requires. Accordingly, when the RLC Tr entity(201) transmits PDUs to the MAC(203), the RLC Tr entity(201) transmits them by the TTI(Transmission Time Interval).
