PURPOSE: A temporary operation control apparatus at fail of a crank angle sensor for a vehicle and a method thereof are provided to improve convenience by operating temporarily with estimating a signal from the failed crank angle sensor through the other crank angle sensor. CONSTITUTION: A temporary operation control device at fail of a crank angle sensor is composed of two crank angle sensors(CAS1,CAS2), two cam position sensors(CPS1,CPS2), an engine control unit(10), an ignition module(20), an ignition coil module(30) and a spark plug(40). The cylinder is distinguished, and the position of a crankshaft and a camshaft is checked based on signals from crank angle sensors and cam position sensors. The signal of the failed crank angle sensor is estimated according to signals from the other crank angle sensor and the cam position sensor at fail of the crank angle sensor. The engine control unit outputs the ignition control signal to the ignition module with the estimated signal and the detected signal. The vehicle is operated temporarily with using the estimated signal.
