PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device which can restrain occupants by spreading an original developed from in the case that there is an obstacle near an instrumental panel and which can reduce an attack to the obstacle and maintain efficiency in restraining the occupants as an original even when there is no obstacle. SOLUTION: In the air bag device installed on the upper face of the instrumental panel, igniting an inflator by a signal from an acceleration sensor during collision and restraining the occupants by developing an air bag by produced gas, a pocket is formed on the lower face of the air bag during developing of the air bag.
