PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body structure for a railway vehicle of good soundproofing by reducing solid borne sound transmitted from vehicle outside into a passenger compartment and capable of reducing costs, and man-hours for attachment of an inner surface side member. SOLUTION: A structure body of the railway vehicle comprises an underframe, a side structure body, a roof structure body 4, and an end construction body. The roof structure body 4 is formed with aluminum extrusion and has a double skin structure. An adhesive layer 11 is formed on a passenger compartment side surface 4a of the roof structure body 4 and an elastic support member 12 (melamine resin elastic form) having good thermal insulation owing to the adhesive layer 11 is attached on the roof structure body 4. An adhesive layer 13 is formed on a passenger compartment side surface 12a of the elastic support member 12 and a ceiling panel 14 is attached on the elastic support member 12 by the adhesive layer 13. The ceiling panel 14, thereby, is vibro- isolative supported by the roof structure body 4 via the elastic support member 12.
