PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationally constitute an ink-jet printer capable of executing a cutting operation without wasting time even in the case the paper target cutting position and the cutter unit cutting position do not coincide with each other at the time of feeding a paper by a preset pitch. SOLUTION: A cutting auxiliary means with a program for conveying a paper P according to a printing operation so that in the case the paper P target cutting position approaches the cutter unit C cutting position, the paper P is conveyed at the time of cleaning a printing head H such that the paper P target cutting position coincides with the cutter unit C cutting position for executing a cutting operation, and returning the paper P to the original position after the cutting operation, is provided.
