PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of correcting in a printer, and a printer wherein a printing position is adjusted by controlling a speed of a carriage or a timing for transferring ink from a printing section during the printing and then the accurate printing can be performed. SOLUTION: A projection 140 is formed on a guide shaft 14 which is an orbit for movement of the carriage 13 in a recorder. When the carriage 13 passes through a portion above the projection 140 formed on the guide shaft 14, the moving speed of the carriage 13 is varied. As a correction point 21 corresponding to the projection 140 is detected based on the speed data stored in a printing correction device beforehand is detected, the speed of the carriage 13 is varied or the timing for transferring ink from the printing section is changed, a ruled line 114 corresponding to the printing position is accurately printed on a sheet 11 without printing shift.
