PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device and method for detecting whether there is liquid or not, wherein the presence or absence of liquid in a jetting portion can be detected by using an electrode pair for jetting the liquid having an electric sensitive property. SOLUTION: In the liquid jet device for jetting a liquid 3 having an electric sensitive operation property by providing the jetting portion 1 communicating to a jetting hole 2 with plural electrode pairs 4, 5 and by applying voltages to the electrode pairs 4 and 5, resistance values varying according to whether there is the liquid 3 or not between the electrode pairs 4, 5 are determined by a liquid detecting means 7 connected to the electrode pairs 4 and 5, and the liquid 3 at the jetting portion 1 is detected whether there is the liquid or not. When a detection that there is not the liquid is made, a warning is informed by a warning information means 8. |
