PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition having excellent balance of impact resistance, rigidity and thermostability, and a molded article. SOLUTION: A thermoplastic resin composition consists of 95-50 wt.% (A) a rubber reinforced styrene resin consisting of a graft polymer obtained by graft-polymerizing monomer mixture containing an aromatic vinyl monomer and an unsaturated nitryl monomer to a rubbery polymer, or a mixture of the graft polymer and a vinyl copolymer obtained by polymerizing monomer mixture containing an aromatic vinyl monomer and an unsaturated nitryl monomer, and 5-50 wt.% (B) an aromatic vinyl-maleimide copolymer with maleimide compound unit shown in formula (1) (wherein, R is H, a 1-18 C alkyl group, a phenyl group, or a phenyl group of which the nucleus is substituted). In the composition, the reduced viscosity (ηsp/C) of extract by acetone is 0.4-1.7, and the ratio of the unsaturated nitryl compound unit is 20-40 wt.% to the vinyl compound unit in (A) the rubber reinforced styrene resin.
