PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agar-free alginate impression material composition having high fluidity and sensitive gelation behavior. SOLUTION: This alginate impression material composition contains a gelation modifier which has 10-20.5 poise viscosity of a paste which is obtained by kneading with 2.5 times as much as water, is in a state before gelation and after the lapse of 3/4 gelation time, is a monovalent alkali metal anhydride selected from a tertiary phosphate, a pyrophosphate, a tripolyphosphate, a hexametaphosphate, a silicate, a carbonate and an oxalate and has <=75μm average particle diameter.
