PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out chamfering work for improving the surface roughness of a machined face in a highly productive manner. SOLUTION: This edge polishing method for a glass substrate 1 comprises using a chamfering wheel 2 having polishing abrasive grains arranged between fibers and the fibers filled with a urethane resin, the wheel being formed in an approximately disc shape with a recessed end face and the wheel in rotating motion having contact at its end face with the edge of the glass substrate at a predetermined inclination to a flat face of the glass substrate.
