A normal resistance-heated point welding appts. is used in which the movable upper electrode is fitted with a cooling system and the lower one bears the work. The appts. is connected to external control circuits so as to operate in cycles of (a) heating the upper electrode and pressing it on to the work (b) cooling the electrode and (c) lifting it away from the work. |
