PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for recording on a reversible thermal recording medium enabling a desired color to accurately come out. SOLUTION: In the method and the device, the application of heat by a thermal head allows the desired color to come out on a thermal recording layer, which is installed in the reversible thermal recording medium and includes a cholesteric liquid crystal material. A pulse signal for allowing the temperature of the thermal head to rise to an approximately constant temperature is applied within heating time during the recording. For example, after a current of 108 mA is passed for 15 msec so as to make the surface temperature of the thermal head rise to 100 deg.C, the current is decreased from 100 mA to 88 mA with a lapse of 35 msec, and the passage of the current is stopped 50 msec after the initiation of the passing of the current. |
