PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a third-type pachinko game machine, which enables an increase in the useful life of an operation detection means installed in the game- ball detecting position of a special device operation judgment gate and ensures the detection of a game ball by the operation detection means. SOLUTION: When a variable display device has a variation in judgment pattern finished, turning is started so as to guide the game balls, which are stored in a guide member, to a special device operation area or an exhaust port after a lapse of predetermined and fixed time. The detection of the special device operation judgment gate is returned to an effective state on condition that a position detector for detecting the position of the guide member is brought into an on-state (during the nonoperation of the guide member) after a lapse of predetermined monitoring time from the point of the termination of the variation of the judgment pattern. Concurrently with that, a shutter installed in the upper part of the special device operation judgment gate is put into an open state.
