PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fit quite easily a horizontal cross piece for losing-out prevention to respective metallic rectangular columns very easily in a good workability and surely expect the preventive action. SOLUTION: Openings 6, 7 having fitting grooves 4, 5 for fitting a cross piece 2 for losing-out prevention are provided at the opposite two faces at both sides of a hollow part 3 of a metallic rectangular columnar body 1. One opening 6 is used for the insertion side opening of the cross piece and other side opening 7 is used for drawing side opening of the cross piece. In the metallic rectangular column for the base material, a pair of protrusions 8, 8 are projected at both side lower ends of the fitting grooves 4 of at least the insertion side opening 6 and the basal part of both protrusions 8, 8 are always bent to the hollow 3 side of the metallic rectangular column body 1 while forming the basal part as bends 8a, 8a.
