PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having an inhibitory activity for the production of tumor necrosis factor(TNF) or interleukin-1 (1L-1). SOLUTION: This 1H-imidazopyridine derivative expressed by the following general formula [wherein, R1 is h, an alkyl, a cycloalkyl or an aryl; R2 is a cycloalkyl, an alkyl, an aryl, cyano, mercapto, carboxyl or carbamoyl; A-ring is a homo or heterocyclic ring which may have a substituting group; R3 is an amino or a saturated nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group which may have a substituting group; and (k) is 0-3 integer] or its salt, has an excellent inhibitory activity for the production of TNF or 1L-1, and is extremely useful as a preventing or treating agent of diseases caused by such cytokines.
