PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a method and a device which can provide a simplified neuromuscular transmission by utilizing a plurality of existing stimulant modes 104, 114, 118. SOLUTION: After having given a patient a neuromuscular stimulus 28, a neuromuscular response 34 has been measured and a universal value 34 is assigned to the neuromuscular response signal 36. The universal value is applicable to a single progressive scale which includes several existing stimulant mode scales 104, 114, 118. A neuromuscular transmission monitor 10 that possesses a treating unit 18, 42 which decides at least one electropole 30, a transdeucer 34, an appropriate stimulant mode to the neuromuscular response signal 36 by treating the data, and creates a non-specific mode value applicable to a single universal scale, is disclosed too.
