PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support for a printing plate having excellent adhesive properties with and a plate wear resistance by using a low-cost raw material without providing an expensive intermediate layer and without uniform roughing treatment. SOLUTION: The support for the printing plate comprises an aluminum alloy plate containing an aluminum content of 95 to 99.4 wt.% and executed by at least roughing and anodizing. Such a support preferably contains at least a total sum of Si and Mn of 0.5 wt.% or more, and Cu of 0.05 wt.% or more. Further, it is preferable that intermetallic compounds having a diameter of 0.1 μm or more exist at 5,000 to 35,000 pieces/mm2 on a part of the roughed surface. |
