1315262 Carrier bags VENUS PACKAGING Ltd 21 March 1972 [19 May 1971] 15715/71 Heading A4G [Also in Divisions B5 and D1] The rear wall 11 of a plastics carrier bag is taller than the front wall 10 and handle apertures or slits 12 are punched in the space between the top edges 8 and 9 in the wall 11 and between the edges 8 and 7 in both walls 10 and 11, the handle holes aligning when the taller side is folded over as a closure flap. The bag is made from an extended tubular web having a gusset (4) formed at each side, each gusset having a fold line 7 between the front and rear folded edges 8, 9, and the edges 8, 9 on the side of the web which forms the top of the bag being laterally displaced from each other. The fold line 7 at the top of the bag is slit to provide access to the bag, the handle apertures 12 are punched, the web is cut into lengths equal to the bag width and the cut edges 13 are welded. The bag may be of polyethylene or polypropylene and may have a pattern printed thereon. |
