PURPOSE:To provide the process for production of the color filter capable of efficiently producing the color filter provided with a black matrix having a sufficient optical density. CONSTITUTION:Desired color layers 4R, 4G, 4B are formed by successively forming plural colors of electrodeposition coloring patterns by electrodeposition on the surface of transparent electrodes 3 of prescribed patterns formed on a transparent substrate 1 and thereafter, a relief 6 contg. a hydrophilic resin and a metallic compd. to serve as a catalyst for electroless plating is formed in the parts on the transparent substrate 2 where the colored layers are not formed. This relief 6 is brought into contact with an electroless plating liquid to deposit the metal to form a black relief (black matrix) 7. |
