PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink composition excellent in dispersing stability, ejecting stability and resistance to scuffing, and to provide a method for ink jet recording using the same. SOLUTION: This ink composition comprises at least an aqueous dispersion of a pigment, a water soluble organic solvent and water, where the aqueous dispersion comprises the pigment included by a polymer of a polymerizable surfactant having both a nonionic and an anionic hydrophilic property and a monomer having a ligand structure capable of forming a chelate with a metal ion. |
