摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material which is based on a new principle for enhancing photocatalytic activity. SOLUTION: This synergistic photocatalyst is a combination of a layer of an anatase titanium oxide photocatalyst activated by light in the ultraviolet region with a layer of anα-type ferric oxide photocatalyst activated by light in the visible region and exhibits a photocatalytic effect greater than that obtained when only either one of the above two catalysts is used.
