PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block copolymer having high hysteresis (loss tangent coefficient) and excellent in abrasion resistance and also excellent in road surface gripping force while running (gripping property) when used in a tread of a tire. SOLUTION: The block copolymer has as a block unit a diene-based polymer and a polymer incompatible therewith. The preferable features include that the block copolymer has a micro phase separation structure and 50% or less of the polymer incompatible with the diene-based polymer and that the polymer incompatible with the diene-based polymer is a cyclohexane-based polymer, the cyclohexane-based polymer being polydimethylsiloxane, and that a terminal has a structure except Si-OH structure.
