PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footstool capable of smoothly ascending the footstool by lightening an impact even if the tip of a toe and the front end of a step collide with each other and preventing an unstable standing posture on the step. SOLUTION: The footstool 10 is constituted of a stair-like step 11 located in an approximately horizontal plane and first and second supporting bodies 12 and 13 symmetrically arranged so as to support both ends of the step 11. The front end face of the step 11 is formed of a circular arc-shaped face 25, non-slip sections 26 are provided on the circular arc-shaped face 25 at predeterminated intervals. The non-slip sections 26 are integrally formed in the step 11 and, at the same time, they are provided so as to locate in the approximately same level as that of the upper surface of the step 11.
