PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition containing a coupling agent which generates either no or only a small amount of alcohol as a by-product. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains at least one kind of reinforcing agents selected from synthetic amorphous silica, carbon black and silica-treated carbon black, and a coupling agent containing no alkoxysilane wherein one of these reinforcing agents is preliminary treated with at least one of alkylsilane hydrophobia agents and/or alkoxysilane non-containing coupling agents.
