PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the stroke of a brake pedal if communication between a master cylinder and all wheel cylinders is cut off when controlling an automatic liquid pressure generator to drive the master cylinder during non-operation of the brake pedal. SOLUTION: A control device controls the drive of the automatic liquid pressure generator and a liquid pressure control valve during non-operation of the brake pedal for the automatic pressure control of the wheel cylinder. Furthermore, a stroke sensor detects the stroke of the brake pedal when the drive of the automatic liquid pressure generator is controlled. The control device performs predetermined processing in accordance with the detection result of the stroke sensor and controls the drive of the liquid pressure control valve to make the master cylinder communicate with at least one wheel cylinder and/or a reservoir when the drive of the liquid pressure control valve is controlled to cut the master cylinder off all wheel cylinders in the state that the drive of the automatic liquid pressure generator is controlled.
