PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper detection sensor for detecting the residual amount of the paper sheets capable of preventing damage in supplying a paper bundle in a paper storage part. SOLUTION: This residual amount detection sensor (paper detection sensor) 57 is installed in a first paper feed tray (paper feeder) mounting a plurality of paper sheets and detects the presence/absence of the paper sheets by displacement of a filler 572 when touching the paper sheets P. This sensor is characterized in that an opening h is formed in a vertical wall part 49 regulating the lateral deviation of the paper bundle on the paper feeder, the projecting end of the filler 572 is formed into a projecting curved surface Q, and the projecting curved surface Q is projectingly disposed from the opening h to the paper bundle side so as to detect the paper residual amount.
