PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operability and functionality of remote copy when an automatic sheet select mode is used. SOLUTION: Remote copy can be conducted by selecting an optimal sheet feed cassette among printers on a network even if a remote printer is not designated by controlling the operation such that the size of a document being read at the scanner section 2070 of a digital composite machine 1001 is detected, information of sheet feed cassette stages 2101-2104, 2905 and 2906 in the digital composite machine 1001 and printers 2902 and 2903 is acquired, a sheet feed cassette suitable for imaging the document is selected from the sheet feed cassette stages based on the acquired information of the sheet feed cassette and the detected document size, image data is transmitted to an apparatus equipped with the selected sheet feed cassette and then printed out on a sheet in the selected sheet feed cassette. |
