METHOD FOR PRODUCING DIANHYDROHEXITE-BISACYLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining dianhydrohexite-bisacylate in a pure form. SOLUTION: Free dianhydrohexite in a solvent selected from a non-polar solvent and a mixture of a polar solvent with the non-polar solvent is esterified with a hydroxy-substituted aromatic-carboxylic acid represented by a general formula 3: HO-CO-X-OH in the presence of a strongly acidic catalyst under separation of reaction water formed to produce the objective dianhydrohexite- bisacylate represented by a general formula 2. Thereby, the dianhydrohexite represented by the general formula 2 is inexpensively obtained in high purity and good yield by an industrially simple method.
