PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably secure the sheet carrying accuracy by securing the drive of a pair of carrier rollers irrelevant to the sheet thickness. SOLUTION: This sheet carrier mechanism is so formed that both of a pair of front first carrier roller and a front second carrier roller aye driven, the front second carrier roller is provided rotatably about a fulcrum shaft 57, and the sheet is carried by clamping by the front first and second carrier rollers. This mechanism is so constituted that the drive force of the front first carrier roller is transmitted to the front second carrier roller via a front first gear 61 of the front first carrier roller, a front first idle gear 66, a front second idle gear 67, a front third idle gear 68, and a front second gear 62 of the front second carrier roller, the center of the front third idle gear 68 is positioned in the fulcrum shaft 57, and the front second gear 62 of the front second carrier roller is constantly geared with the front third idle gear 68.
