APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING BEAM USING DOA ESTIMATION IN MOBILE SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for forming a beam using a DOA(Direction Of Arrival) estimation in a mobile system is provided to form the optimum beam by estimating the DOA of a received signal and determining a transmitting weight. CONSTITUTION: A DOA estimator(200) acquires reverse received signal vectors through array antenna elements(101-100+N), estimates DOAs using the acquired reverse received signal vectors, and calculates transmitting phase weights(w(0)-w(N-1)) through the estimated DOAs. A plurality of multipliers(401-400+N), corresponding to the array antennas(101-100+N) in a one-to-one ratio, multiply each of the transmitting phase weights(w(0)-w(N-1)) outputted from the DOA estimator(200) by each of the transmitting signals distributed through a distributor(300) and transfer each formed beam to each array antenna(101-100+N).
