The present invention relates to a process of producing carbonyl a-substituted nitrogen-containing compounds, which comprises reacting a-halo-ketone or a-halo-aldehyde with primary amine, secondary amine or heterocycle compound containing nitrogen atome in the presence of Lewis acid and in the presence or absence of solvent. This process has the advantages of simple and easy-to-operate procedure, mild reacting condition, low energy-consumption, high yield etc., thus improves efficiently the utilization and productivity of the equipment.
