PURPOSE: A carbon nano tube field emission device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to concentrate efficiently an electric field and reduce the leakage current by using the carbon nano tube. CONSTITUTION: A lower electrode(16) is formed on an upper portion of a lower substrate. An insulating layer is formed on the lower electrode(16). A gate electrode(18) is formed on the insulating layer. The lower electrode(16) is exposed by the gate electrode(18) and a hole of the insulating layer. A catalysis transition metal layer is formed on the exposed lower electrode(16) by the gate electrode(18) and a hole of the insulating layer. A carbon nano tube emitter is grown on the catalysis transition metal layer. An anode electrode(23) and a fluorescent material are laminated on an upper substrate(24).
