PURPOSE: A supporting member of a catalyst is provided to combine alumina by melting through vibration heat. CONSTITUTION: A first mat(21) is consist of 70% alumina fiber and 30% silica. A second mat(22) is consist of 70% alumina fiber and 30% biotite. Vibration from 70MHz to 100MHz is added after folding the first mat and the second mat. The mats are stuck together by melting the alumina fibers of the mat through the vibration heat. The durability of a supporting member, the purifying efficiency of exhaust gas and the catalyst conversion efficiency are increased without using glue.
