PURPOSE: An automatic smear apparatus is provided to achieve improved accuracy of test by smearing cells uniformly all over the slide, while permitting a large amount of cells to be smeared in a short time. CONSTITUTION: An automatic smear apparatus comprises a main body(1) having a personal computer(30) for controlling smear of a fixed cell, and a chamber(2) having a door(2'); a tip(3) arranged in the chamber so as to move and inject the cell for smear; a cell fixing liquid tube(4) for fixing the cell obtained from a patient; a tray(5) for accommodating a slide(5') for cell smear; and mount portions(7a,7b) for accommodating a dyeing rack(8) for fixing the slide where the cell is smeared and dyeing the cell. The mount portion has an X-axis guide board(20) movable in an X-axis, and a Y-axis slide head(21) moving in a Y-axis, wherein the X-axis guide board and the Y-axis slide head are arranged above the mount portions. The cell disposed in the cell fixing liquid tube is moved through the tip and smeared to the slide, and the slide is automatically inserted to the dyeing rack.
