PURPOSE: A method for automatically optimizing the performance of a communication system is provided to make the operating system of each individual board periodically analyze values associated with the performance of its own board and automatically control a system environment until a preset optimum variable value is settled, in a system containing a plurality of individual board. CONSTITUTION: After an individual board is installed in a system, a processor detects log data associated with the performance variable of an embedded system in an initial state(S1,S2). The processor compares the detected log data with preset optimum reference data and applies the obtained optimized data to the system(S3). Then the processor judges whether a processing load state(X) based on the present performance variable optimization work reached more than a preset processing load value(R)(S4). If the processing load state(X) reached more than the preset processing load value(R), the processor returns to the log data detection step(S2) after stopping the present performance variable optimization work until a required processing load value or less(S5). However, in case that the processing load state(X) didn't reach the preset processing load value(R), the processor, the processor judges that the present detection time(TX) reached a preset reference time(TR)(S6). If the present detection time(TX) reached the preset reference time(TR), the processor compares the presently optimized performance variable value with each preset optimized performance value(S7).
