PURPOSE: A tar eliminating apparatus of a vaporizer for an LPG(Liquefied petroleum gas) vehicle and a method thereof are provided to use conveniently, and to prevent engine idle trouble, starting delay and lowering of engine output by automatically and periodically removing tar generated in evaporating LPG. CONSTITUTION: A tar removing device of a vaporizer for an LPG vehicle is composed of a starting sensor(1) detecting starting of an engine; a vehicle speed sensor(3) detecting speed of the vehicle; a solenoid valve(7) installed in a tar discharge pipe(5) to open and close the tar discharge pipe; and an electronic control unit(9) accumulating travel distance according to engine driving time calculated based on the signal from the staring sensor and average vehicle speed operated based on the signal from the vehicle speed sensor. The electronic control unit eliminates tar by driving the solenoid valve in case of the total travel distance to be over the critical value. Convenience is improved with eliminating tar from the vaporizer of the LPG vehicle periodically and automatically.
