PURPOSE: An air sucking apparatus by using rotational force of a timing belt is provided to increase flow rate of suction air, to improve rotational inertia of the timing belt, and to prevent thermal load of the belt by guiding air generated in turning the timing belt to a surge tank and supplying to a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION: A timing belt(13) is formed in a driving system, and rotational force of a crankshaft is transmitted to intake and exhaust camshafts with the timing belt. The driving system is protected with a timing belt cover(30), and an air inlet(31) is formed at the side of the timing belt cover to suck air by turning the timing belt. An air outlet(32) is formed in the upper part of the timing belt cover to guide air generated in turning the timing belt to a surge tank. An air hose(25) is connected between the air outlet and the surge tank, and air is discharged from the air outlet to the surge tank. An air filter is formed in the front of the air inlet, and an exhaust gas recirculation passage is connected to the air hose to prevent overcooling of suction air. Flow rate of air in the combustion chamber is increased with guiding air to the timing belt cover, and thermal load of the timing belt is prevented.
