PURPOSE: A thin film transistor substrate of a liquid crystal display and a method of fabricating the substrate are provided to prevent moire, to produce a liquid crystal display with high aperture ratio, and to simplify a liquid crystal display fabrication process. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor substrate of a liquid crystal display includes gate lines(21,22,23) including a gate electrode formed on an insulating substrate, a gate insulating layer covering the gate lines, and a semiconductor layer(41) formed on the gate insulating layer. The substrate further has data lines(61,62,63,64) including source and drain electrodes formed on the semiconductor layer, a pixel electrode(80) connected to the drain electrode, and a black matrix(95) formed on a portion of the substrate, which is not covered by the pixel electrode.
