The invention relates to a method for selecting peptide ligands, comprising the following steps: (a) bringing a library of peptides into contact with a cell culture containing selected cells; (b) bringing a library of peptides into contact with a cell culture containing cells of the same cell type as the selected cells in (a) but in which a modification has been induced in the presentation of the surface molecules of the cells; and (c) isolating peptides which (i) bind to the cells in (a) but not in (b); and/or (ii) to the cells in (b) but not in (a). The invention also relates to peptides which can be obtained using this method and to their use for therapeutic or prophylactic treatment of tumours, formation of metastases or thromboses.
