PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing polyoxy tetramethylene glycol(PTMG) in a high yield by polymerizing tetrahydrofuran(THF) in the presence of a mixed catalyst comprising a silica containing heteropolyacid and fuming sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION: The PTMG is produced by polymerizing the THF in the presence of the mixed catalyst comprising the silica solid catalyst and the fuming sulfuric acid for 0.5-40 hours, wherein the silica solid catalyst contains the heteropolyacid formed by condensing a central element selected from the group consisting of P, Si, As, Mn, Ni, Te, I, Al, Cr, Ge, B, Ti, Ce, Co and a coordination element selected from the group consisting of Mo, W, V, Nb, and Ta. The solid catalyst contains the silica and the heteropolyacid in the weigh ratio of 1:1-12:1. |
