The invention relates to an apparatus for breathing under water or in noxiuous environment having compressed air in a cylinder (1), which has the pressure regulation assembly made up of a pressure reducer (A) and an expander (C), coupled by a hose (B). The reducer (A) has a high-pressure body (5) with a filter-screw (6) which, by using a spring (7), strains a valve (8) with a smooth mirror-like surface, sealed by fittings (9) from a body (10) and operated by a rod (22), straining, in its turn, a plate (21) by means of a rubber membrane (20), which on the opposite side is pressed by a plate (19) operated by a spring (18) strained by a screw (17) having the orifice in a body (13) having at the upper side a bell-piston (14), sensitive to the pressure variations of the environment. The second pressure regulation step involves an expander (C) where the air gets in through the hose (B) and its joint (D), having a non-return valve (26), the expander (C) having a low pressure non-return valve (33) at the air intake and a non-return system (E), fastened to its bottom cover (40), for the exhaled air evacuation, the assembly being protected by a top cover (44), provided with a rubber button (38).
