PURPOSE: A shock-absorbing hood lock of a vehicle is provided to protect a pedestrian safe from a collision by maintaining the rigidity of a hood and minimizing the shock transmitted to the walker in a head-on collision. CONSTITUTION: A shock-absorbing hood lock of a vehicle comprises a bracket(110) fixed on the inner face of a hood(1), a pair of striker flanges(120) fixed in the bracket and the hood, hollow core strikers(150) placed under the striker flanges and elastically connected via tension springs(130), a shock absorbing lever(160) combined to a portion of the bracket via a pin(162), and a pair of arms(170) inserted to the strikers. If the shock absorbing lever rotates by centering on the pin, the arm is lifted up by the shock absorbing lever. The arm rotates by centering on a pin(172), and the end of the arm is separated from a locking recess(152) and received in the striker via the tension spring. Therefore, the hood is lifted downward and the shock transmitted to a walker is damped.
