PURPOSE: A power shutting-off apparatus is provided to prevent electric parts of a vehicle from being broken by shutting off power of a battery when the vehicle is flooded in water. CONSTITUTION: A detection switch(4) is provided at a lower portion of a vehicle. The detection switch(4) is operated when the vehicle is flooded in water. The detection switch(4) is a float-type switch and is installed below electric parts(3) of the vehicle so as to protect the electric parts(3) from being shorten due to water. When the vehicle is run, an output signal generated from an ECU is inputted into the second relay(6). Upon receiving the output signal, the second relay(6) is turned-off. When the vehicle is stopped, the output signal is not transferred to the second relay(6), so the second relay(6) is maintained in ON-state.
