PURPOSE: A device and method for controlling steering of a vehicle is provided to improve steering safety by using an ECU(Electronic Control Unit). CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling steering in a vehicle comprises a vehicle speed sensor(27) mounted on an EPS system; a control unit(24) controlling steering by analyzing data detected from sensor; an oil pump(21) containing fluid; first and second controlling valves(22,23) controlling a supplying direction of the fluid of the oil pump; a power cylinder(22a) connected to the first controlling valve; a variable axis valve(14) mounted on the control unit; and a torque sensor(28) transferring an input signal with a rack position sensor(29) and a vehicle acceleration sensor(30). Thereby, the device for controlling the steering in the vehicle improves steering safety by using an electronic control Unit.
