PURPOSE: A shock-absorbing hood lock of a vehicle is provided to minimize the shock applied to a walker by separating a striker from a latch via an actuator in a head-on collision and lifting down a hood. CONSTITUTION: A shock-absorbing hood lock of a vehicle comprises a striker(10) installed on a hood(1) via a bent portion(12) fixed on a latch(4), a striker position adjusting unit(20) to adjust the rotational position of the striker, a shock sensor(30) installed in the hood to sense a shock, and an ECU(Engine Control Unit)(40) to control the striker position adjusting unit by using the shock information provided from the shock sensor. In a head-on collision, a shock due to the collision of the body of a walker against the hood is transmitted to the hood and the hood is deformed downward. The shock information is transmitted to the ECU. The ECU operates a solenoid(24) to rotate the striker. Then, the bent portion of the striker is departed from the latch, and the deformation space of the hood is secured. Therefore, the shock applied to the walker is minimized.
