When drawing up wiring diagrams of logic modules, the regions (1), which are located in the upper metal levels (10-13) and which are left open by synthesis methods of conductor tracks (20), are filled to a maximum extent with conductor tracks (30) that serve to protect the integrated circuit. These conductor tracks are provided as sensor conductor tracks (31-33) according to availability of components (T4) for controlling or evaluating, or are provided as connection-free conductor tracks (34) merely for confusing potential attackers.
