PURPOSE: A frame of a cathode ray tube is provided to increase strength of the frame and reduce weight of the frame by extending entire length of a bead. CONSTITUTION: A frame of a cathode ray tube having a panel(10) and a funnel is supported inside the panel(10) by springs and has beads(31). A shadow mask(40) is attached by the frame(30). The frame(30) is formed to accomplish restriction 4/6L<=l<= 5/6L where l is the entire length of the beads(31) in the long and the short edge directions and L is the entire length of the long and the short edges. The beads(31) are formed at the frame(30) in the long and the short edge directions as ones, formed as two or more parts, or formed partially at the corners of the frame(30). The restriction 4/6L<=l<=5/6L makes the thickness of the frame(30) as thin as possible to reduce the weight of a product, and increases strength of the frame(30).
