PURPOSE: A shock absorber is provided to improve endurance of an impact absorbing member, and to protect the shock absorber against shock from vibration of a vehicle by installing the impact absorbing member in the shock absorber. CONSTITUTION: A piston rod(11) is combined with a cylinder(10), and the lower part of the cylinder is connected to an axle of a vehicle. An orifice(13) and a valve are mounted in a piston(12) to circulate oil, and oil is charged in the cylinder. Spring guides(14,15) are placed in the lower part of the piston and the end of the cylinder, and a buffer spring(16) is installed between spring guides. Impact from the road surface is absorbed with damping vibration of the spring by a shock absorber. Spring guides are pressed with the piston by compressing the cylinder in compressing the spring from vibration of the vehicle, and shock is absorbed with spring guides. Endurance is improved with installing the buffer spring in the cylinder.
