APPARATUS FOR DIVIDING AND COMBINING MULTIPLE BEAM IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus for dividing and combining a multiple beam in a mobile communication system is provided to balance the traffic of each sector of a base station and efficiently use frequency resources by varying a size and a direction of a sector beam according to the traffic distribution of each sector using 6 adaptive beams. CONSTITUTION: A multiple beam shaper module(102) generates a multiple beam provided through m antennas as m beams in which directions differ each other. An 180° coupler module(104) synthesizes (m x n) beams generated in the multiple beam shaper module(102) as (m x n)/2 beams. A switch module(106) switches the beams provided through the 180° coupler module(104). An 180° phase transit module(108) performs phase transition so that the beams switched through the switch module(106) are synthesized. An analyzer module(110) adjusts the amplitudes and phase characteristics of the beams so that the amplitudes and phase characteristics of the beams are identical.
