A cushioning pad formed of molded fiber and having first and second generally parallel surfaces. A plurality of spaced-apart substantially hemispherical protrusions extend above the first surface and have perimeters. The pads have crescent-shaped weakened regions adjacent the perimeters of the hemispherical protrusions to permit flexing of the hemispherical protrusions with respect to the front surface to absorb shock forces applied to the cushioning pad. |
